Hiding from Plain Sight

When I thought of what to say to describe these pictures, I couldn't come up with anything. They speak for themselves.

Portraits

I have been focusing a lot on portraits and people's faces this project. I like making eyes pop out by using contrast and highlights. Here are some pictures from my portraits project.

Mrs. G made me put this one, because she says that it was a perfect teaching example. It would also "immortalize Yash forever." This was an example of frozen motion. Except for the hands.
This is a result of the "Bracketing" exercise. I like the way the shadows contrast with the turf, and the fact that the bouncing ball seems to be leering at you upside down. It was taken in the Kindergarten's playground, and is another darkroom picture. The original has a more yellow tone, but that was lost in the process of scanning.

This is another one of my "Light at Night" pictures. I chose to stack two books and surround them with candles. The books I chose were Harry Potter, because I love him.

Sophie's darkroom

This photo was part of the "Light at Night" project. The only source of light in the room were the fairies. I like the way the c.ds on the wall throw back some of the light, while the blinds absorbs all of it. This photo was scanned from a picture developed in the darkroom, and unfortunately it lost some of its tones in the process.
