Cafeteria Project Nathan
These two particular pictures were taken during my food/cafeteria project. I didn't have to many photos that turned out nicely primarily because of the lighting. My goal was to make the food look appetizing and delicious. I believe I accomplished that, especially with the croissants. I like the croissant picture because of the clear, close up view and how light is reflecting off of the sugar coating on the croissants
I really like all kids of animals however cats, especially street cats, leave me speechless. The look they have in their eyes. The kind of look that bears a burden of all the hardships those little creatures had to go through on the streets of Netanya, the town where I live. The way they let you come close to them and take as many photos as you wish. They would stay still or change poses but will never run away until your done with your photo shoot. I believe that the fact that those cats are not so clean and might be not as "good" looking as the cats that are held at homes, makes the street cats a lot more "better" looking in my eyes than any other home cat.
Geometric Shapes Project Nathan
This photo was taken during my geometric shapes project. I primarily like it because of the strong colors that stand out nicely. I also enjoy the shapes and figures found through out this photo.
Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds

This image shows variety of colors made by the Photoshop effect called "Curves". The main reason I chose this image, is its coolness. Although it might look very sharp in people's eyes, it has a feeling of ultraviolet mixed with bunch of wires that make this image just perfect in my opinion. This is my greatest work in the field of digital photography, so this deserves the title "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" which is my favorite song.
Reflections

When I was asked to upload my images, I specifically chose these two reflection images. I find the Image to the left to be the extremely creative, but simple at the same time, as I only adjusted its levels on Photoshop. In a different sense, the picture on the right is more complex as it features different effects of bracketing. Moreover, on a any other given day this picture would have not been possible, as it was taken after a rainy day. Additionally, the burn effect diverts more attention towards the reflection itself.
Paint Project
When I learned we would have to chose a topic to focus on for the rest of the semester, I found myself overwhelmed with ideas to extent that I couldn't think of anything. I had the idea to focus on paint when one of the art teachers told me that in her opinion photography was not really art. I then decided to prove her, and anyone else who felt that way, by combining studio art with photography.

The image above started of as a result of simple boredom and practice. Because the topic I chose to focus on was paint, I decided to test the editing skills I have acquired over the years. I like it :P

I like this photo because of its elegance. The light contrasting on the blackness of the dark room makes it look as though the cup has spotlight pointed on it. In case it is not clear, the cup is filled with paint.
Not edited at all.

The set above has some of my favorite photos of mine. In art, paint brushes and palettes are the artists tools, and the paint is more of a prop, useless without the brush. What I love about this project is that this is the opposite. This photo would be boring without the paint. The paint is the focus, the tools, and the brushes and palette are the props. In fact, you could even say they are the canvas.
Not edited at all.

The photos above where some of the most fun to set up. What I did was take a cup, Light bulb and candlestick holder, build a room of mirrors around them, and cover them in paint and glitter. The first and second photo are before I put the paint on. I love the last photo because I combines both elegance with funk and innovation. The antique candlestick and the wine glass, mixed with the light bulb and neon colours make it truley interesting. However,. I must say that the set up itself looked much much better in person then it does on camera.

I could not call these mine if I did not add something grotesque and morbid. After all, I do like to put some of my personality into my work :P.

These last two works are the last of my paint project. If it is not clear, I covered a glass mate with paint from head to toe, and tried to capture colours contrasting with her skin. My favorite of this set is the last image (it is also the only one out of these three which has had any editing done to it)
I enjoyed this project, and I feel that I have proven, at least to myself, that Photography is unarguably art. I enjoyed working on this project because it was interesting to see how two different art genres can melt together to make one amazing result.

Shadow Project Nathan
I took this picture during my shadow project. I remember this particular shot because I didn't think it was going to turn out to be any good. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it on the computer. I enjoy the outlined shadow of the tree on the textured bricks and how the sun is very strong providing a clearer more detailed shadow.
This photo is from the cookie project. My inspiration for this photo was when i saw in a movie different colors of cookies and they looked so good. The reason why I chose this photo is because every time i look at this photo I start drooling because the cookies look so good and the color adds on to the look of the cookie.
Venezia
During Spring Break I traveled to a country with the most beautiful sites in the world. I went to Italy. Wherever I turned my head to, I couldn't stop taking pictures. The architecture, scenery, everything was giving away this special feeling that I haven't felt in any other country I traveled to. The most fascinating place was Venice (Venezia). That's where I took this picture. It's one of my favorite photographs because instead of showing the canals of Venice with colorful gondolas going back and forth, I thought it would be better to present a different side of Venice; a quite and even a little lonely-looking side. The not-so-bright colors and the mirror-like water add a special effect to the feeling without any Photoshop. I really hope this photograph is just as fascinating to anyone who'll see it as it is to me.
This picture is from my sticks project. My inspiration for this photo came from the saying sticks and stones may break my bones but nothing will ever kill me (paraphrase). I chose this photo because this photo represents me in the category of sports. I am short so everyone counts me out, so since i have to prove myself i work as hard as i can and what ever happened nothing brings me down.

Hiding from Plain Sight

When I thought of what to say to describe these pictures, I couldn't come up with anything. They speak for themselves.

Portraits
I have been focusing a lot on portraits and people's faces this project. I like making eyes pop out by using contrast and highlights. Here are some pictures from my portraits project. Tuesday, April 12, 2011
Mrs. G made me put this one, because she says that it was a perfect teaching example. It would also "immortalize Yash forever." This was an example of frozen motion. Except for the hands.
This is a result of the "Bracketing" exercise. I like the way the shadows contrast with the turf, and the fact that the bouncing ball seems to be leering at you upside down. It was taken in the Kindergarten's playground, and is another darkroom picture. The original has a more yellow tone, but that was lost in the process of scanning.

This is another one of my "Light at Night" pictures. I chose to stack two books and surround them with candles. The books I chose were Harry Potter, because I love him.
Sophie's darkroom

This photo was part of the "Light at Night" project. The only source of light in the room were the fairies. I like the way the c.ds on the wall throw back some of the light, while the blinds absorbs all of it. This photo was scanned from a picture developed in the darkroom, and unfortunately it lost some of its tones in the process.

Downtown Zurich
This photo was taken last month when I visited Zurich. I remember when I took this picture, I separated myself from the group I was traveling with and looked onto the beautiful waterfront in front of my eyes. I stood there for a few moments looking out to the water I felt at peace. It was just me and the water.

Texture project
This project was influenced by our montage exercise. I wanted to capture the way the light sneaks through the textile or bounces on their surface and sneaks in to their cracks. For this project I used one stand light and a white sheet of paper to create a clear environment for the fabric. I tried to show the contrast of few silky and rough clothings. I also used some found objects such as old rusty, dirty paint brushes and sponges from the art room, my shoes, jeans and scarf.
